USCIS Prepares to Reopen Offices on June 4

U.S. FlagIn response to the Coronavirus pandemic, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services decided to temporarily suspend in-person services at its field offices, asylum offices, and application support centers (ASCs) on March 18,. This decision was made in an effort to help slow down the spread of the virus by limiting public interaction. While the offices are temporarily closed, employees are continuing to perform services that are essential and do not require face-to-face contact with the public.

After extending the temporary closures, USCIS is finally beginning to prepare the reopening of their offices on or after June 4, 2020. Once they begin to open, field offices will send notices to any applicants and petitioners whose scheduled appointments and naturalization ceremonies were affected by the closures. USCIS asylum offices will also send interview cancellation notices and automatically reschedule them. When this is done, the applicants will receive notice with the time, date, and location of the new interview. In addition to this, ASC appointments will also be automatically rescheduled and a new appointment letter will be received in the mail. Individuals who had InfoPass or other appointments must reschedule through the USCIS Contact center once field offices reopen to the public.

"Before I decided to hire David as my immigration attorney, I made thorough research online and I can say that I don’t regret a second that I made the right choice to choose him to represent me as my immigration attorney to apply for my green card. From day one, he was very helpful and patient. I asked him lots of questions during the application process and he provided me always great advice.
